Our Season Pass and 3 Pass offer great value if you’re looking to enter more than 1 event.  Here’s some more information on how they work:

Availability: Season passes are only available before the season starts (ie up until 27/9/2019).  3 pass is available until there are 3 races remaining (ie 12 noon on 10/1/2020).  These passes are only available online.

Season Pass Long:  Olympic distance entry in Round 1 and 5 at Robina; Long distance (900/24/6) at Raby Bay for Rounds 2, 4 and 7; and Sprint distance at Round 3 Kawana and Round 6 Caloundra.

Season Pass Short: Sprint distance entry in Rounds 1 Robina, Round 3 Kawana, Round 5 Robina and Round 6 Caloundra; Super Sprint distance at Rounds 2, 4 & 7 (all Raby Bay).

Season Pass Enticer:  Enticer distance at all Rounds 1-7.

3 Pass: Mix and match any three distances at three events and receive a 10% discount, when purchased in one transaction.


The Season Pass and 3 Pass is not transferable and is valid only for the original purchaser.  If you want to purchase this as a gift for someone else, please contact us info@theeventcrew.com.au and we can set this up.

The Season Pass/3 Pass is valid for individuals only, and not team entries.

Each Season Pass can only be purchased in one transaction.  If you enter individual events at the beginning of the season,  you can not credit those against a Season Pass.

If required, the Triathlon Australia One Day Member insurance fee is in addition to the Season Pass/3 Pass and is not eligible for any form of discount.

All Kool Kids participants receive a medal as they cross the finish line, as well as placegetters medals for 7-9 & 10-11 year old Males and Females.

Medals are awarded in the Enticer category at each event for the age groups up and including to Under 16 only.  There are no medals for over 16 athletes doing the Enticer distance.

Medals are awarded for the first three athletes across the line in each age group for Super Sprint, Sprint, Long and Olympic Distance.  We recognise Athena (80+) and Clydesdale (90+ and 100+) categories.  There are no medals for Mates Waves or Club Waves.

If you are not at presentation, you can call the office on 07 5568 0443 to arrange for your medal to be posted to you (p&h fee applies).

Any bike is fine. Cruiser, mountain bike, racers, BMX, baskets, spokey dokies – all are great options. Your bike just must be in a safe working condition.

Yes, helmets are compulsory to participate in the event. When you enter transition to ‘rack’ your bike, you will need to put your helmet on – at this time our technical officials will check that this is safe to wear for the event.

Yes, we will issue you a coloured swim cap to wear based on your wave start. If you would prefer to wear your own, you can wear this underneath the event cap.

No wetsuits are allowed in our Triathlon Pink events.

For all other triathlons, a wetsuit decision is made based on water temperature. The water temperature is taken the morning of the race and if the water is 22 degrees or above then it is a non-wetsuit swim. If the water temperature is below 22 degrees, you will be given the option of wearing a wetsuit. It is not a requirement to wear a wetsuit if the water temp is below 22 degrees. 

Open-Elite Waves may be required to race without a wetsuit at lower water temperatures as per Triathlon Australia rules.

Anything goes really, provided your torso is covered during the bike and run! You can swim in just your bathers or with tight shorts or leggings over the top. When you are in the transition area before the bike leg you can put on shorts/leggings and a singlet or t-shirt. Some people choose to purchase a tri-suit, which means you can wear this the entire time.

The change over point is at the cyclist’s bike. Swimmers must give the cyclist the timing chip before the cyclist removes bike from rack and upon completion of the bike course, cyclist must rack their bike and then give the runner the timing chip before the runner begins the run. The race number bib is to be worn by the runner only. The timing chip is to be worn by all team members on the left ankle or the team may not receive a time.

Yes we do team entries! Teams have a minimum of two and a maximum of three participants. That means one person swims, one person rides and one person runs. If one person wants to do two legs that is fine – but if you and your friend want to participate side by side you need to do individual entries.

The term ‘transition area’ is the area where you set up your bike and ‘transition’ from the swim to bike legs and then bike to run legs. Before the start you will leave your gear for the bike and run leg next to your bike and then exit with your swim gear and head to the swim start. You can’t leave any bags or additional items in the transition area. These will be removed by officials if left.

To avoid having all the athletes entering the water at the same time, competitors are divided into “waves”. Each wave will consist of no more than 100 swimmers to give you plenty of room to swim and enter transition smoothly. Check the information board for your swim start time or view them under each event on the website in the week leading up to your race. Note that tentative category start times are listed but MAY CHANGE the week of the race. Specific wave starts are listed on the website Thursday of race week. 

We do recommend you leave all valuables at home however if you have a bag & personal belongings you can leave this in the bag storage area whilst you race.  The location of each bag storage area varies by location so be sure to check with the Help Desk if you are unsure where this is.  A tag from your number bib will be attached to your bag so we know which bag is yours when you come back to collect this.

Photos will be available within 3-5 days after the race and a link to these will be placed in the post race email and in social media.

After the race is a great time to catch up with friends and family, make new friends with your fellow competitors and generally talk about the whole experience!  Stick around for the presentations and random prize draws, remember to put your race tag (tear it off from your race number) in the barrel, you must be present to win!

You are not permitted to race with any music devices including mobile phones, MP3 players, earphones etc, this is a very serious safety risk to you and the participants around you.

Yes, each triathlon participant receives a timing chip as part of their race pack which is to be worn on the left ankle.  For the Gold Coast Running Festival, your timing chip is built into your race bib.

Yes. All distances have a minimum age for participation. For more information on age restrictions please visit the event page you are interested in.

Your age for all triathlon events is the age you are as of 31st December 2019 (as per the Triathlon Australia rules).  In the case of the Gold Coast Running Festival, your age is calculated as of race day.
