Who We Are

‘The Event Crew is an event management company, based on the Gold Coast at Burleigh Heads, Queensland. The Event Crew was established in 2012 by Heath Fitzpatrick and Brendon Downey, who together have extensive experience in event management and delivery as well as being former athletes in their respective fields.

The Team

Brendon Downey - Event Manager, Operations

Brendon has been involved in triathlons for over 25 years, initially as NZ National Champion in 1991 and an elite triathlon. Brendon then moved into a successful coaching career, including guiding Olympic representatives in his role as Sports Development and High Performance Manager of Triathlon NZ.

Brendon is a former owner of the adidas Auckland Marathon, Mission Bay Jazz & Blues Street Fest and the Run & Walk Events Series (Auckland 2002-2012) so his experience in event management is extensive.

Emily Sass -   Marketing Manager

Emily has a diverse background and skill set, in which she has worked with a wide range of organisations such as Ford Motor Company and Sony Ericsson. During her time working with Sony Ericsson, Emily managed Sony Ericsson's events and sponsorships such as the Medibank International and Robbie William's 2007 Australian Tour. As an Australian Youth Ambassador for Development, Emily helped coordinate the development of Surf Life Saving in Samoa. She is loving her move to the sunny Gold Coast and can often be found down at the beach when not on the megaphone at our events.

Nikki Luke - Administration and Volunteer Manager

Nikki brings her smiley personality to The Event Crew front office and can be heard talking to our athletes and suppliers all day long.  With extensive administration experience across a mixture of corporate, education and sporting sectors Nikki manages all front office responsibilities and ensures the smooth running of the business.  You will see Nikki running around organising our volunteer crews and playing staff "Mum" on race day! Nikki takes on the role of administration and also as Volunteer Manager.

Brent Tritton - Operations Assistant

Brent graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Business - Marketing and Bachelor of Business - Sports Management. Since the completion of his degree he assists with the operations management within The Event Crew. Brent assists with the operations on The Event Crew's portfolio of events. He has an eye for detail - just try to get something past Brent!

Chelsea Downey - Digital Communications, Data Management & Community Partnerships

With a mixed background across health promotion, sports coaching, community partnerships and business administration, Chelsea brings a diverse set of skills to The Event Crew.  Chelsea has a varied role within The Event Crew and depending on the time of year can be seen managing all digital content and communications, forging community partnerships, managing race week registration, acting as our timing coordinator, race day help desk and on course support.

Donna Noble - Accounts

Having spent many years working in a customer service role, Donna went on to work within the sport of triathlon as a VIP co-ordinator and as an accounts manager. Donna now works for The Event Crew looking after the books and more recently as Volunteer Manager for Challenge Gold Coast.
